Parallel scanner does not work due to configuration conflict.
Cause:

Solution:
Correct configuration conflict.
1) Click the 'Start' to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)

3) Double-click the 'System' icon.

4) Click the 'Device Manager' tab.
5) Double-click 'Ports (COM & LPT)'.

6) Double-click on the LPT1 port listed.
7) Click the 'Resources' tab.
Check the 'Conflicting Device List' box for conflicts with another device.

If yes, note the IRQ address that it is conflicting.
8) Click 'Cancel'.
9) Select the 'Interrupt request (IRQ)'.
10) Double-click 'Computer'.

11) Check the list of the IRQ number assigned to each device on the computer. Determine an IRQ number that is not used by another device.

12) Click 'Cancel'.
13) Double-click the LPT1 port.
14) Click the 'Resources' tab.
15) If 'Use automatic settings' is selected, clear it.

16) In the 'Resource Listings' box, double-click on 'Interrupt Request'.

17) In the 'Value' box, type the new IRQ number for the sound card. Choose 'OK' from each dialog box until the 'Control Panel' appears.
